If you're looking to give some money away, but don't want to throw it away, check out were Saddleback gives. Suzette and I are very picky as to which aid organizations we personally give to. The ones we've chose are loving people and bringing hope to our neighbors all over the world. All are held financially responsible and many are members of www.ecfa.org  by voluntarily submitting their books.  You won't find many tele-evangelists as members of ECFA.  Go figure.

JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is a currently working on the development of an artificial pancreas.  This not only will revolutionize the diabetic world, but it will save the life of my little niece, Grace.

ANLM is a doozie.  Africa New Life Ministries is based in Rwanda with the business structure in Portland, OR.  They have 2000+ kids in their free schools (school isn't free in Rwanda).  They have several orphanages, a street kid ministry feeding and letting them do laundry twice a week, a single mother ministry teaching them a trade, leadership training, a solid church and a bunch of other great things going on.  They are highly financially accountable.  Ever thought of  sponsoring a little kid to eat and go to school?

Teach your kids a life of giving by letting them give at www.gfa.org  Buy a cow or a water buffalo or  male and female goats, pigs, rabbits or chickens for a poor family to breed.  Buy the poor tools to work and earn money.  GFA drills fresh water wells, feeds the starving, teaches the Bible, clothes the homeless and does huge amounts of  disaster relief.  100% of the money you give goes to the poor since all administration folks are privately funded.

Mercy Ships Mercy Ships has a large crew of volunteer surgeons, dentists and other medical staff who reconstruct deformaties and help out the extremely medically needy all over the world.

Compassion International is successfully breaking the chain of poverty in many 3rd world countries through feeding, teaching and training.

"Strange Work" is the first book I've ever read that clearly and logically explains the book of Revelation (the Bible's prophecies about the end of the world and afterlife).  It's written for the average person, not for brainiacs.  The author happens to be my dad. He really is a genius.
