100 Year Warranty - If this pouch falls apart sometime in the next 100 yrs., have your great grandchildren talk to my great grandchildren and we'll repair it, replace it or give them credit.
Look at our new video from the Serengeti of the small travel case.
Stiff sides and soft corners - I designed it with a stiff bottom, front and sides (like me) to keep its form. I put on a soft back and top, so it'll take on character and be comfortable against your hip.
Thick Full Grain leather ages with handsome patina - Not to be confused with inferior Top Grain, Genuine or Bonded leather, this is the toughest top layer of the cow's skin with all of the grain still there. The fine natural pores that receive the colors and oils, when touched, haven't been shaved or sanded off yet. That's why Full Grain leather gets more and more beautiful with age and the others don't.
Industrial Marine-grade U.V. Resistant Polyester Thread - This thread is typically used for sails, tires, work boots, and other heavy-duty applications where extreme strength and durability is required. And we use the real thick version of it.
Pigskin Lined - It's what they used to make footballs out of because of its high tensile strength. It's actually stronger than the leather it lines and it cleans up easily.
Reinforced Stress Points - Wherever there's stress, there's a rivet. Wherever there's hardware, there's a solid strap of nylon between the pigskin and leather. Leather stretches, nylon doesn't.
Leak and Explosion safe - Top rim of the case has an overhanging lip and side flap to keep things on the inside, on the inside.
Dimensions: Measurements are from outer edge to outer edge. The stitching robs about 1/8" of space from the measurement.
Medium 10"W x 6"D x 5 ½"H (25.4 cm X 15.2 cm X 14 cm)
Weight:
Medium - 2.85 pounds
This item is currently shipping with the shoulder strap clasps pictured
Lining - Lined with pigskin, which has the 2nd toughest tensile strength rating of leathers. Kangaroo is the toughest.
Leather - Made with 100%stout 4 to 5 oz (2.0mm to 2.2mm) thick Full Grain leather. Usually, cowboy and work boots are made with 1.8mm - 2.0mm thickness. Don't confuse Full Grain with inferior Top Grain, Genuine or Bonded leathers. Caution: If something "Made WITH Full Grain leather" is priced unbelievably low, don't believe it. Schlicksters use 90% vinyl or cheap leather and 10% full grain leather so they can technically say, "Made WITH full grain leather".
Construction - Built with one solid chunk of leather in the form of a cross and then folded up and around to make this case. It'd be a lot cheaper to make this with a bunch of small scrap pieces, but if a bag is going to tear, but it's stuff like this that separates us from the masses.
Thread - The double zero continuous-filament Polyester thread we use is a little thicker than what is used on most boots. This thread is impressive and expensive. Common thread is made of short little fibers wound together into one long thread. This thread is made of long continuous fibers that won't fall apart in a strong wind. Polyester thread is the only thread I know of that doesn't deteriorate with exposure to sun.

Are the animals tortured before they are slaughtered?
Absolutely not! With some pigs we do use waterboarding and sensory deprivation techniques previous to slaughtering them, but the cows do not require any special handling.
Where can I see one of the wallets in person?
I don't have any of the items in stores and we're not big fans of folks coming to our home in San Antonio because of the weirdo factor. My sister, Patricia and her husband (my Chess and Scrabble nemesis), send out the leather from their place near Ft. Worth, Texas, but again, because of the weirdo factor they're not set up to show either. If it helps, everyone tells me that they look better in person.
No more changing purses
Last year, my husband bought me the Large travel Case upon request for Christmas. It's probably the most useful present I have ever received. I use it as an every day purse. It holds everything that I need and I get compliments on it all the time. It does look a little like a Dr's bag in the black, but it's a versatile look that goes with anything. I even just toss it across my shoulder when I ride my motorcycle and it rides nicely on my lower back. I did modify the strap slightly to remove the buckle and one of the snap clips to make it a little sleeker. After a year of daily use, it still looks brand new. It does get a little heavy when I have to carry it for long periods of time, but I can also run the strap through the top handle and use it like a backpack if it gets too unweildy.
the perfect little toiletry kit!
just got my travel case yesterday , i bought the small in chestnut (my personal favourite colour) i actually bought it on the 25% Dave's deal and have no regrets in doing so , it has a small mark on one of the corners from the sewing machine that virtually disappears after applying a little mink oil to the case. any way as i stated in the title this makes a perfect toiletry kit , which is what i bought it for . the loop pockets on the lid hold my Edwin Jagger Classic safety razor and tooth brush perfectly , i have a few packs of spare razor blades, comb , styptic pencil, dental floss, some Q-tips, and a manual nose hair trimmer in the back pocket. in the main compartment i have a Taylor of Old Bond St deodorant and one of their soap bars (in a case) my aftershave lotion , tooth paste , pre shave oil , shaving cream , Edwin Jagger travel badger brush , a small shampoo, hair pomade, and cologne. its all a fairly snug fit but i have everything i need to look my best all in one easy to carry or pack case. I love it !
Multi-Functional Simplicity
My first exposure to Saddleback was perusing Amazon.com and seeing a Moleskine cover for $45.00. I was enthralled; what could possibly warrant a high price tag for a notebook cover? So I visited your website, spent a week reading and re-reading your entire website. I was thoroughly convinced I was going to invest money in one of your bags for my trip up north. As it turned out, I couldn't decide between the pouch, the dry bag, or the travel case. I finally decided on the medium travel case (tobacco brown) and submitted my order.
My Medium Travel Case in Tobacco Brown arrived early this afternoon and I could smell the leather through the box. I opened the box and was so knocked out by the look of the bag even still wrapped in the plastic. The workmanship is stellar and I cannot believe what a great buy this is. I didn't realize a key fob was included and was ecstatic over that extra as well as my mini-Bible. The pigskin lining is beautifully matched to the outer leather; the inner pocket at the side of the case is perfectly crafted to hold a first aid kit, Altoid tin, vitamin/pill case, and eyedrops; the inner "ear" flaps keep contents inside the case; the buckle closure is extremely sturdy; the adjustable strap was at a perfect length to wear cross-body (I am 5'4"); and the floating shoulder pad is thick and durable. The only complaint is the clip mechanism that connects the shoulder strap to the case: it screws open or closed but when closed it is not perfectly aligned (only I notice it).
After reading various testimonials, viewing YouTube videos, and reading your website on the Travel Case, it fits perfectly into my life as a travel case during my flights up north; using as a toiletry bag on occasion; using to transport my lunch (bento-style) and other daily needs; and my daily purse running into town. I am sure to get overwhelmed with compliments on this bag. My favorite part of owning this bag is its multi-functioning simplicity.
Your fine craftsmanship and eye for beautiful detail is superior to any bag I've seen and used. My only regret is not seeing this company 30 years ago or whenever it started marketing its products. Thank you so much for a great product. I will be saving up for more products to buy now that I am a Saddleback Leather convert.
