Are the animals tortured before they are slaughtered?

Absolutely not! With some pigs we do use waterboarding and sensory deprivation techniques previous to slaughtering them, but the cows do not require any special handling.

Where can I see one of the wallets in person?

I don't have any of the items in stores and we're not big fans of folks coming to our home in San Antonio because of the weirdo factor. My sister, Patricia and her husband (my Chess and Scrabble nemesis), send out the leather from their place near Ft. Worth, Texas, but again, because of the weirdo factor they're not set up to show either. If it helps, everyone tells me that they look better in person.

Beautifully Simple

I have had the same wallet since 2005. It was really falling apart, but I couldn't find a perfect replacement... and after searching for a couple years I discovered Saddleback. This wallet is AMAZING. All of my cards and cash are nice and snug so I don't feel like anything will fall out. Plenty of pockets and spaces to organize everything I need to take with me. Works great to throw in my purse, but then grab when I run into a store. The construction is unbeatable- with the best part being, I won't have to search for another wallet- cause this bad boy is NOT falling apart!!

Great as a clutch

I ordered this as a matching wallet for my large women's tote purse. When I recieved it I felt it was way too big, however, being a mom, I have found it very useful as a clutch within a purse. There are times when you don't need to haul around all the kids items or a large purse (i.e. date night, etc.) and you may not want to change purses for just a few hours. This is great because it is large enough to carry all your essentials, and is already ready to go. Just pull it our of your bag and go. It makes a very attractive clutch. And, of course, the quality is outstanding.

I adore this wallet!! UPS delivered it last night. Had to wait for my leasing office to open this morning to pick it up. The longest night of my life. I order the big wallet, the small notepad & large tote. All Chestnut. All on the same order. Will last a lifetime!!! Fantastic value for the quality!!!

Big Leather Wallet

This wallet was a Valentine's gift from my Saddleback obsessed husband. I have the dark coffee brown, which goes with my Bible cover too... it's a deep rich color, my absolute favorite. It's beautiful, and smells amazing. My wallets get used hard--and this is the first one I've ever had that has a respectable number of pockets for everything I carry, which is thrilling. The workmanship is incredible.

I've joked several times since having it that I'm more terrified to lose the wallet than I am to lose my ID and credit/debit cards inside it. Which is as true as it is ridiculous, but this wallet really is that amazing. That being said, my only complaint about it is that if I'm running a quick errand to the grocery store or whatever most of the time I will just shove my wallet in my jacket pocket and head out the door--with this wallet I cannot do that because it is so large. I wish it came with a small strap option that I could loop through the pen holder in the middle so I could just wear it cross body for quick trips so I don't have to clutch it like a crazy person while selecting apples and bananas, and feel all panicky every time I set it down for a half second.

My husband may regret buying me this incredible wallet, because he doesn't realize it, but totes in black and tan are next on my list... hehehehehe! Thanks Saddleback for an epic wallet.

Finally Pulled the Trigger

I've been debating whether I actually NEEDED one of these Big Wallets for several months, as I've been using a Wilsons travel wallet for over 10 years. Meanwhile, my Saddleback collection continues to grow, and after seeing this come up on a Dave's Deal I just went ahead and clicked and bought it. I already had Saddleback gear in DCB and Chestnut, and I've been wanting to get something in Tobacco Brown, as I think it looks awesome as it ages. Being a Saddleback fan, I know how they way overbuild everything, but this Big Wallet is just amazing. I think all the layers of leather at their thickest point are over 3/4 of an inch thick! I can't imagine how they can manage to get this sewn together, but they did, and this thing looks like it will last forever. As usual, I had to look real close to find what they perceived as the flaw that made it a Dave's Deal. Before I loaded it up with all my airline, hotel and rental car cards I bent and worked it over to try to remove at least some of the initial stiffness, with some success. To sum up this review: 1) You've never seen a wallet like this. When you first hold it in your hands you'll be amazed. 2) There's no way this will fit in a pocket, unless it's maybe a big overcoat, and even then it would be awkward. 3) It's going to take up significant space in your briefcase, purse, or whatever you plan to use to carry it, so bear that in mind. 4) Go ahead and get one. If you wait and get one in a year or two, it'll just take that much longer to get it broken-in and looking cool.

Better than my wildest dreams!!

I got this wallet as a spur-of-the-moment, impulse buy. Let me tell you, it is beyond awesome! So sturdy, fits into all of my purses. And boy have I received a lot of complements!! In one month's time, I have gone from no Saddleback products to the (very) proud owner of 5!!! Keep it up, Saddleback, and I will keep coming back for more!!!

Use this as a travel wallet and extra wallet. Holds all those other cards, etc that you do not need every day.
Excellent construction and workmanship.
This wallet is heavy duty.
It is large so don't thick you will carry this in a pocket.
I keep in the classic backpack to organize the extras.
Love the tobacco brown color.
PS, have had this 9-10 months.

Wallet/clutch

I have this wallet and it is gorgeous. It goes back and forth between my purse, diaper bag and book bag. I also use it as a clutch purse when I'm making a short run to the store or out to dinner. I do wish I could attach a strap to it somehow to carry over my shoulder or as a wristlet, but I haven't figured that out yet--I just tuck it under my arm. I debated between the wallet and the small purse, and I'm very happy with the wallet. I get compliments on it when I use it as a purse or pull it out of my bag to pay for something. It's sturdy as heck, too.

Just received my wallet. It's gorgeous. I carry everything in my wallet. Checkbook, cards, receipts, and I never have enough room. This wallet holds everything. I feel so organized. It's my first piece of saddleback leather, and I'm sure it will be the first of many.. Amazing quality...

Traveler

I use this for my travels. Enough space for passport, foreign currencies and all kinds of airline, hotel membership cards. It was a bit tough in the beginning but it is now working beautifully after few trips. Love it.

Makes a great car glove box wallet!

Bought to be a glove box wallet for my 2013 Shelby GT500. Huge & holds tons of things like registration, insurance, change, cards, & pens.! Highly recommend.

I just got a 2013 Shelby GT500...& was looking for something really unique to use as a document holder for my registration & insurance. After doing quite a bit of searching, I stumbled onto the big leather wallet. It has tons of pockets to hold cards, papers, change & pens. It will last forever. I couldn't actually imagine using it as a wallet unless you carried it in a backpack or bag.
