The Leather for Our Briefcases

We only use the toughest leather we can get (thick full-grain leather), the highest grade of hide you can buy, to make all of our leather laptop bags. The grain is the toughest and most water-resistant part of the hide. So when companies sand or split off the top part of the hide to get rid of scars and blemishes so they can use up more of the hide, they're getting rid of the toughest part.

Other Materials Used in our Leather Bags

Yes, full-grain leather is the quarterback getting all of the attention. But the other materials we use is what the over-engineering thing is all about. We line our leather briefcases with pigskin, which is more durable than the full-grain leather. The hardware is the ridiculous 316 stainless steel (rated to hold up to 750 lbs). We sew everything together with a UV-resistant marine-grade polyester thread (it's the same exact threat that's used to sew together ship sails and parachutes... you know, things your life depends on). 

Functionality of the Fourteener Briefcase

This thin leather laptop bag is our smallest leather briefcase and is wide enough to fit any 14" MacBook Pro or laptop. The 2019 15" Macbook Pro fits in the main compartment but not inside the soft laptop sleeve pocket. Two interior flat front pockets to hold a charger, pens, cables, and papers. There aren't a lot of features and functionality, but that's on purpose. It's just a simple briefcase that is the perfect size for your smaller laptops.

This leather briefcase is really designed for the minimalist. It's a small, compact leather bag but still large enough for your essentials. Just purposeful organization for your laptop, notebook, pens, and daily carry — no gimmicks or clutter, just intentional design that makes it easy to stay light and efficient. Slim enough to slide under an airline seat but strong enough to survive years of commutes.

    Perfect Daily Commuter

    I absolutely love my fourteener. Its big enough for my work laptop and ipad pro 12 inch and plenty of pockets and nooks for accessories. Love the false bottom too! 10/10

    This is my 3rd briefcase from Saddleback, and it doesn't disappoint. I own several other products from them, and I couldn't be more pleased. The quality and craftsmanship are second to none. You get what you pay for!

    The Best Purchase

    I was on the fence of buying saddleback Fourteener this or not, but ended up buying it, it worth every penny, bought a large bifold wallet 2 years ago from saddleback its a beautiful, very well-constructed product, In future if I would buy Any leather product it would be from saddleback, hope saddleback will expand their product range, and be bit more creative with their hardware selection for tobacco and coffee brown colour bags, My opinion is the brushed stainless steel more square buckles and D Rings with more square shape would really look good on those two colours.
