So good it might be my last purchase

I have been looking for this bag for years. This is the perfect overnight or short trip bag. I have carried my iPad, gadgets, book and weekend clothes. Plus it's carry on size. The workmanship is excellent as always and the classic design (with a couple of great innovations) makes for an 'forever' bag. The full grain leather is not as full/thick as my 6 year old Waterbag but that isn't a criticism. It is every bit as strong, durable and beautiful plus it's a little bit lighter. My sons each have a list of the Saddleback pieces they want when I die - my eldest just added this one to his list and asked me not to show the bag to his brother. 'nuff said.

My Wife is a Hospitalist, I have been searching for an old school Marcus Welby Dr.'s bag for her. This bag Emulates Classic Caring & Classic Saddleback styling all rolled up in a single satchel.

Great Multi-purpuse Bag!

Great Bag. Just got back from the beach with the bag and it is great for traveling. Easy to get in to in a hurry and holds a lot more then you would think. I've been using it as a briefcase during the work week too. Its a Great Multi-purpuse Bag!

Best Bag ever... Now takes the place of a Briefcase too!

You don't have to be a doctor to use this bag!

One of the best designs yet! I got mine in tobacco and love it. It will hold a dopp kit and a couple/ 3 days of clothes if you pack carefully and roll everything neatly. I use this back as my weekend/overnight bag ... tough as nails and gorgeous! Lots of compliments. It makes an outstanding briefcase too! When I travel, I use this bag as a carry - on. on the outside there is room for a water bottle/ magazines/ tickets/ notepads/ travel wallet. The bag is not too heavy at all. When I fly, I use the doctor's bag as my carry on and my Waterbag as a checked item. Between the two, I have traveling just about covered!

Perfect combination briefcase and bag for short trips

My normal travel luggage is a front pocket briefcase and a waterbag. However, I decided to see if I could use a single bag and I thought that this bag looked enough like a briefcase to bring to a business meeting.

I have now taken two trips and it has worked quite well. I carry a change of clothes, toiletries, pens, notebook, Mac Air and a bunch of chargers and connectors. All fit fine in this bag.

A few small issues that I have had are:

1. There are straps that wrap around the bag and thus are rubbing against your body. They are not uncomfortable but I do worry that they may eventually wear holes in my sport coats.

2. On a couple of planes the bag would not fit in under the seat. I had this happen the first week I used the bag and I did have it a bit over stuffed; on my last trip I had no issues both on regular jets as well as on a regional jet. It easily fits in overhead compartments.

3. I wish it had a key clasp.

Story

Saddleback’s take on the classic doctor’s bag. Sturdy metal frame opening wrapped in thick full grain leather, with a copper rivet for a hinge. Designed to fit a 15” MacBook Pro and enough clothes for a night or two. A great weekend bag that you probably won’t have to gate-check even on those tiny little regional prop planes.
