Perfect Daily Carry!

by

Perfect size to hold my 15” MacBook Pro and other work stuff!

Saddleback quality all the way!

My favorite bag. Ever!

by

This Gladstone-style bag is absolutely wonderful and is everything I ever wanted in this type of bag. The size is perfect (fits folders and documents). The utility is perfect (I can throw my everyday carry essentials in without any hassle). The aesthetics are perfect (it is just a good looking bag). Definitely the bag you want to get if you want a briefcase that does the job and looks good doing it. Whether you work on a train, or on a plane, with some clocks or crumblings rocks, this bag will come in handy, even if your name is Sandy, Randy, or if you are a fancy dandy.

This bag's predecessor, the Doctor's Bag, also available from Saddleback Leather Company, is also very great, but is much bigger than this one.

Perfect!!!

I am a longtime Saddleback fan. Having owned at one time or another, many of their EDC options, I must say that they hit this one out of the park. Over the past few years, I have owned the Saddleback Briefcase, Thin Front Pocket Briefcase, Messenger Bag, Large Satchel, the Square Backpack and the Hardside Briefcase, all in my quest to find that perfect everyday bag. THIS IS IT!!! Love everything about it from the unique, traditional "Gladstone" closure mechanism, to the separate pockets on the front of the bag that are NOT covered up by a flap that you have to unbuckle first, to the hidden cash/passport flap in the bottom of the bag... AND it weighs less than 5 lbs. Perfect for travel or when I'm out and about. Definitely a perfect blend of old school aesthetic with the quality and ruggedness I have come to expect from Saddleback. Home run!!!

Best bag I have own to date

by

I have most of SBL bags and I would say this is the best bag I have own so far. The bag is well balanced and the easy access to the front pockets is the best feature. I loved the way the bag stay open and the handle is very sturdy. Highly recommend anyone to give this bag a try.

Never thought they could top the classic briefcase...

by

Awesome bag! The proportions are just right, and the leather is top-notch (and the smell…wonderful!). The chestnut color is almost a brown with deep red highlights (especially in places where the leather is "pulled").

The opening takes a little getting used to, but I like being able to keep my bag open on my desk for easy access to all my stuff. The hinges are just copper rivets, so we'll see how well they hold up over time.

The strap mounting points seem small to me - maybe it's because I'm just used to the massive anchor point on the classic briefcase, but I'm curious to see how they'll hold up as well.

Because the mounting points are staggered, you need to take care if you are lifting the bag by the strap (especially if it's laying down) - you don't want the strap hardware getting caught up in the hinge mechanism. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of.

I never thought I'd find a bag I love more than my chestnut classic briefcase, but here it is!

Finally!!!

I have over 30 SLC products and am a huge fan! Have had the large classic briefcase for years but found myself using it less and less because it's too big and heavy and not airport friendly / doesn't attach to a roller bag easily. I tried the thin briefcase and the satchel but they didn't carry enough or have enough pockets for accessories. This guy checks all the boxes and the handle easily slips over the handle of my roller bag for travel! I have the SLC passport wallet, SLC business card holder and some pens in one pocket, some chargers and headphones in the other pocket, and both my laptop and ipad fit in the large back pocket of the interior, with plenty of room inside for files or other items. Truly a great bag worth waiting for! Only suggestion would be to add a pocket or two on the sides of the inside like most other SLB bags have...

And So It Goes...

Concerning the video showing "what fits"; me thinks Joe may have some anger issues.

This new bag is great and I am enjoying it. If I had one wish with SBL bags is that they wouldn't use so many buckles/belts to secure everything.

I get it...I don't like zippers either. But a lot of times something just flopping over is good enough. Or one of those little steel knobs you guys use sometimes.

Or how about the little leather draw string thingies you used on my long ago but still have and love "tank" backpack? You know, on the side pockets.

Anyhow, great bag.

My new go to carry on bag

by

My new favourite leather bag. I have to admit I am addicted to SB and own many. This design is awesome. The pockets behind the pockets are genius. It seems like it will be my new favourite carry on.

Only 2 wishes,

1). I would like to see the return of the key lanyard on all SB bags especially one designed for travel.

2). It would be nice to have the inside pen, pencil pockets.

Story

Back before zippers were invented, there were bags like this. With its hinged, leather-wrapped rigid opening, it’s plain to see that the Saddleback Flight Bag is a little bit of a departure from the rest of the Saddleback briefcase line. It’s got two folded leather handles, and is the only Saddleback briefcase that does not convert to a backpack. Dave thought this one through to be a little simpler and a little lighter but still very much a Saddleback design.
