This sleeve will need to be broken-in and stretched a bit before you try putting your iPad/Keyboard cover in.
I spent about 3 hours across 2 days (while watching TV), rolling and unrolling the leather, both across the length and width. Additionally, I folded a 400-page paperback tech book lengthwise and left it inside the sleeve for a couple nights to stretch the seams.
The mini and keyboard cover fits perfect now, and they fit tight enough not to fall out!
Great product, Dave! I'll be using this for years and years!

My Mini 2 has a Khomo super slim case (it's basically a knock off of apple's over priced case) and didn't fit this sleeve at all at first, but after breaking it in, it's really great.
I broke it in by stuffing it with a shirt and forcing the Mini (with case on) into the sleeve and keeping it in for a few hours, then taking it out, putting that shirt back in for a few hours, etc. Did this for a couple days. Now it's pretty perfect.
Sometimes it's hard to get out, but not incredibly hard and it's still loosening and getting better every day, like most saddleback products.
I just wanted to make folks aware that this sleeve fits the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 very well. It does stick up out of the top about 1/2 inch. This actually makes it easier to pull out of the sleeve when you need it.
If your looking for something to protect your device while on the go, and you want to do it in style, this is a good choice. Especially if you love the look and feel of your device and don't want cover it up with a case. Enjoy!
I purchased this for my 2013 Nexus 7 however, I have tested in Ipad Mini, and Nexus 7 2012 with and without smartcovers. I am a connoisseur of gadget cases and covers. This makes more sense and is better built than just about any on the market. Buy it once and use it for your lifetime, how cool is that? If you are thinking about it , just BUY ONE!
My Saddleback Leather iPad Mini Sleeve in tobacco arrived today! I think the peeps at Saddleback Leather know that most of their customers have OCD, so they pay extra attention to detail when they make their products! The leather and construction is quality, and the stitching is precise. This sleeve fits my iPad Mini 4 perfectly. P.S. I have OCD.
I ordered this in chestnut for my IPad mini. The quality and appearance of this item is simply stunning, I mean it's just beautiful! Great protection for my Ipad, much better compared to ANY other type of case or cover out there, bar none! This is just a gorgeous product that does exactly what it's designed for. I just reviewed a medium bifold wallet and described it as being built like a tank. This gadget sleeve is identical, but it's a beautiful tank! Buy this and prepare to be impressed! Great job Saddleback!
The sleeve is made very well. I love the craftsmanship and the smell of new leather! Hovever it did not fit well my iPad mini with a clear shell case that covers the back of the iPad and a smart cover. I was able to wedge it in, but it took me a while to get it out. Even with just a Smart Cover the fit was too tight. The sleeve fits 'naked' iPad mini perfectly. So I'm going to loose the hardshell case and a smartcover to see how I like it.
When I was in college, my best friend talked me into trying snowboarding for the first time instead of skiing.
This time, after a full day of snowboarding on Mt. Hood, I went and bought my own snowboard because I had had so much fun. It was actually a very old used snowboard that a friend of mine sold me for next to nothing. In fact, whenever I was sitting on a lift people would laugh and say, “Dude, that’s awesome! You’re totally riding an old school board!” I mean, every time. It started getting a little old. One guy even tried to buy it off me and said, “I’d like to put that on the mantle of my cabin one day.” The board was kind of obsolete, but I didn’t want to stop using it just because it was old.
So this Gadget Sleeve would have been like a snowboard bag. I wanted something for my gadgets that wouldn’t become obsolete in just a few years and be hanging over the mantle one day unused. Gadgets come and go in style and use, but this Gadget Sleeve will keep fitting the next gadget and then the next gadget over and over again. It won’t ever become obsolete.
