I was torn between getting this sleeve and the passport wallet. Eventually decided on this one and glad that I did. The design is just about perfect for protecting your passport and WHO card. As with all Saddleback pieces, the leather ages beautifully and seems indestructible.
If you're trying to decide which Saddleback passport holder to get, keep in mind that as of 2016 American passports are being issued with twice as many pages as before. (This is because, for security reasons, they've eliminated the possibility of adding pages to a passport after it's been issued.) This development made me glad that I went with this passport sleeve rather than the thicker passport wallet. With the passport itself now being thicker, I wouldn't want any extra bulk in the passport holder.
A minor problem is that the flap that holds your WHO card has thick nylon stitching up the inside edge, which will eventually scratch off some of the foil lettering and seal on the cover of your passport. I'm not sure whether this stitching serves a practical purpose (maybe to prevent stretching?) or if it could be removed in future designs. However, if the scratches bother you, you can just flip your passport so that the blank back cover is facing forward.
My theory in life " Ya get what ya pay for" and I am extremely in a -----Oh Yea Mode.
The thickness of the leather, the feel (soft & smooth ) I got more than my bling bling's worth. I think it can withstand a Nuke Attack
Can not wait to spend a couple of grand for a trip and give Ole Customs something to feel and if they got any sense about 'em they will smile as they pull out my documents seeing & touching this passport sleeve.
This would look even more spectacular if the Passport Design was stamped on the front if it but just a thought for ya
Thanks Guys & did I forget to tell it a Great piece of workmanship.
& BTW for those thinking about ship time ----- it was FAST !!!!!
Thanks again ---& off to a cool place
Disclaimer: I bought this to hold index cards. I apologize to anyone looking for a review using this for its intended purpose. I will say that I prefer my Passport Wallet in that regard, simply because of the additional features it offers. My review still might be helpful, though.
Anyways, I wanted something to hold index cards. That is my preferred method to take notes. This fits the bill perfectly. I use the left pocket to hold blanks, and the right sleeve to hold my active ones. The pocket is stretched to hold ~20 at maximum capacity (although I'm sure it could be made to handle more), while the sleeve juggles no more than ~5-6. I generally fill the pocket with no more than ~12-14 cards, as this makes sliding them in and out easier. It is worth noting that a single card stays put when placed in either the pocket or sleeve.
I tried using the Passport Wallet with my index cards, but it just felt too bulky once loaded up, and never meshed well with my routine, especially given the fact that it closes on its own. This Passport Sleeve, even full, is not bad at all given its flexibility and thickness, and has the added bonus of being able to lay perfectly flat while open. I'm very pleased with it, and use it everyday.
I purchased 2 as Christmas gifts. I love the design, just like the description says - SIMPLE - but perfect for my gift giving needs. The chewing incident just happened last night, five days before Christmas :(
One of the 2 recipients will not be getting theirs. Big brother? or Boss? I LOVE my brother, but I am due for a raise ;) Sorry boss!! The brother card trumps!!
The Sleeve is out of stock in all colors - even if I took the chance with UPS getting it to me on time, that's not an option. I hope SB will make more after the first of the year, I'd like to order a couple more for myself & hubby!
