Bought this for my husband for Christmas in tobacco. He is retired Special Forces. Needless to say it takes a lot for him to be impressed with all things related to guns. He was impressed. This gift was a home run! Thanks Saddleback!
I've purchased two. The quality is outstanding. The small will accommodate most 1911 frame sizes and barrel lengths. Customer service and shipping were fantastic. I am a customer for life.
After eyeing this pistol wrap for months, I was able to grab a medium tobacco one on Dave's Deals at 25% off. No clue why it was discounted, the wrap is awesome. It fits my Ruger 1911 with room to spare, but it doesn't move around. Only thing that kind of threw me off is that it's bigger than I anticipated, but I can get used to that. If you're thinking about getting it, stop thinking and just do it.
I ordered the smal pistol wrap to use in my truck. I keep a pistol in my truck every day. It is usually stuck in the side pocket of the center console and covered with a cloth. With this small pistol wrap, my Sprinfield Armory XD .45 with 5" barrel fits great. I can use my full size 1911 with it as well. The pistol wrap is easy to carry the pistol to and from my truck, without concern of the pistol slipping out of a holster. And, the chestnut color very closely matches the seats in my King Ranch F250. The pistol Wrap fits in the side pocket of the center console next to my right knee. I leave the strap unbuckled to allow quick access, but the pistol stays legally concealed.
I received the large pistol case for a Christmas gift. I have have many SBL items, and have gifted many as well. Per usual, just wonderful. I will upload a pic if I can, but I wanted to note that the large case accommodates my Desert Eagle *with* a 2x Leopold scope with no problems. I have looked at these since first made and knew that it would accommodate the pistol, and figured I'd just use it with another firearm. Much to my surprise it holds that weapon just fine and still has a couple of holes to spare. It is not *completely* closed, but I'd think most will be just fine with that if that's the deal breaker. Great product.
My lovely wife surprised me with one of these for Christmas. What an extravagance (and I mean that in the BEST of ways!). This is a real show piece - beautifully constructed, lovely to look at, and it nestles my pistol in snuggly sheepskin. It fits my CZ 75 SP-01, old Colt Woodsman, and Ruger 22/45 with red dot sight very well. It is a bit small for my wife's 5.25 inch XDM but, having given the wrap to me, she won't get her hands on it now...
The inner compartment works well with single-stack magazines but will not handle multiple double stacks like the XDM. No matter. I will carry them elsewhere.
If you ride a horse strap works well over the saddle horn.
Fabulous sexy little pistol wrap perfect for my 38 Rugar!!!!!!!!!!! Never disappointed with saddle back leather, but will say, the strap could be longer, or there could be an additional strap to make it more versitile. Also wish there was a bulit in shell holder since my gun in a revolver that doesn't have the convience of a clip. Thoughts to ponder, but do not regret the purchase.
i got my case last week, and immediately slipped my para p-14 limited into it. snug and sweet. It's a wonderfully made, solid protection for my firearms. I will be getting a second for my H&K, and probably a third if my race pistol will fit.
First off, the design of the case is just about perfect - the sheepskin lining is just right. the pistol fits in the case sweetly, and i can't stop handling this case. smells wonderful too. I immediately conditioned the case with Chamberlains (blatant plug).
You should buy this. Why? you cannot find a better made, more practical, and beautiful case for your firearms. it's superior craftsmanship, and design speak well of SBL - this is a perfect case for my pistols. I'll probably snag a shoulder strap at some point and try it out as a 'shoulder holster/bag' for walking around the range. I have it sitting by my bed, in my jeep, and i hate to put it hidden away in my range bag. i want to *wear* it.
excellent design, and of course, SBL quality. this will, indeed, outlast me.
This is the case that all other gun cases want to be when they grow up.
I was a little apprehensive, then pleasantly surprised. My S&W 686 with a 4in barrel fits in the medium wrap well. Keep in mind this is not a holster, so it's a bit on the bulky side. Well made, blah blah blah. I have no regrets. If your weapon doesn't fit, you can always return it. Please check your local gun laws before you leave your residence with a weapon. The only thing I would change would be to add an area to hold a few rounds.
As a retired police officer I am always looking for different options to carry a concealed weapon. I have bought the pouch and after seeing the views of the pistol wrap I was sure it could also be used to carry concealed. Bought the wrap, removed the liner and using existing belts on the wrap plus adding two rings I attached the leather strap from the shoulder pouch and converted the wrap into a pretty effective concealed carry pouch. Good job Saddleback with this design and hope to see specific concealed carry designs in your future line up.
Very, very nice. Just like all Saddleback Leather products I've bought, this one lives up to the my expectations in craftsmanship and quality. My Ed Brown Special Forces 1911 fits perfectly in the medium-sized wrap.
Keep in mind this is a wrap and not a holster. In Dave's pictures you'll see a leather strap/handle on the back which I'll use to hang on a fence or branch when outdoors (to keep it off the ground). And I have to admit I look forward to taking it to the range and making a show of removing my Ed Brown from it.
Very happy with it.
Today I received the classic pistol wrap from Saddleback color tobacco. Fantastic product to transport the gun to the shooting range, wrap provides good protection of the surface of the gun and it is compact compared to a factory plastic box. Very happy with purchase, good product quality and design. Greetings from Norway
Hi I absolutely love this ! Just a thought ...have you guys considered making purses for concealing a gun? I would buy one for sure!
Thank and have a nice day!
I sincerely appreciate fine leather craft, and Saddleback Leather produces some of the finest I've found.
The small pistol wrap fits (tightly) my Glock 34, which has a long slide of 8 1/4". All my other handguns are shorter than the 34 and so, will fit. The wrap is well made. The sheepskin lining is high quality, and fixed well. Easily removable for washing. Everything about the construction and materials is heirloom quality.
My only wish would be for a longer strap - at least available for purchase. For me, the strap should be long enough to wear around the shoulder/across the body, to hang the holster (wrap) loosely at my side.
Well done Saddleback, but an available long strap would make it ideal.
As always, quality construction. Fits a full size (5" barrel) 1911 [.45 Cal Springfield TRP] with the lining but just barely. Was able to also fit two Wilson Combat 47D magazines in the inside pocket and still buckle the straps. If you remove the lining, you lose the back strap and the two D rings as they are integral to the liner. 1911 fits comfortably in the sheath minus the liner though. I'm sure once it is broken in over a couple of years it will make a nice home for my pistol.
Also fits: .45 cal XDm with 4.5" barrel easily with the liner but not with an extra magazine in the pocket with or without the liner.
Think the back D rings should have been sewn in instead of being integral to the liner. Other than that, awesome old school pistol wrap. Very pleased.
