No more changing purses

Last year, my husband bought me the Large travel Case upon request for Christmas. It's probably the most useful present I have ever received. I use it as an every day purse. It holds everything that I need and I get compliments on it all the time. It does look a little like a Dr's bag in the black, but it's a versatile look that goes with anything. I even just toss it across my shoulder when I ride my motorcycle and it rides nicely on my lower back. I did modify the strap slightly to remove the buckle and one of the snap clips to make it a little sleeker. After a year of daily use, it still looks brand new. It does get a little heavy when I have to carry it for long periods of time, but I can also run the strap through the top handle and use it like a backpack if it gets too unweildy.

Boxy Cool!

by -

My husband always teases me about which bag is my favorite and then answering by saying, "which ever saddleback she's carrying today," haha! But it's not far from the truth because I adore my saddleback stuff! This bag is no exception. I bought the travel case to use as a purse because I really liked the boxy shape of it almost mimicking an old time doctors bag. I got tobacco brown and its absolutely sumptuous. There's one simple pocket inside which is nice for my mobile. You can fit the big wallet but it has to go in sort of sideways in and out. I prefer to use the id wallet with this bag and then all my usual handbag stuff fits easily. It's a great size really. I took the shoulder pad off of the strap and usually wear it cross body. I love the long strap! I always get comments when using this bag so it's a fun bag to carry. I would love to see this bag with an outside pocket for convenience but absolutely do recommend and love the travel case.

Great for airline personal item

by -

I bought this to use with the Classic Duffel for travel. I found that a standard iPad just fits diagonally inside and still allows for the usual junk you'd want access to on a plane or in the airport. This was a great match for the duffel which isn't easy to get in and out of, and won't fit under the seat in front of you! My wife's iPad Mini fits perfectly inside.

Great product, practical size and tough as the rest of my saddle back stuff. Only down side is there's no paper pocket on the back like there is on most other products. This would be the ideal place for plane tickets and photo ID, but it's not part of the design, which is odd since it's a travel case. I found myself opening and closing it a lot because of that.

Another Great Purchase

by -

This is the 5th product I have purchased from Saddleback. I swear Dave and his team are geniuses'. This is the perfect size and design. The back pouch holds travel soap and shampoo. I also have my nail clippers and additional razors. The loops on the lid fit my double edge razor and toothbrush...although tight, they are secure. I have a shaving stand, soap, aftershave, toothpaste, deodorant, and a travel shaving brush in the b ag, and there is till tons of room for other items.

The pigskin lining is perfect in the event of spillage or even thru excess usage, it will definitely withstand the test of time. I took the strap off because I don't need it yet. I guess when my hands are full and I have to walk a ways to the bathroom and my hands are full...it will come in handy. Either way, I am once again blown away from the quality of workmanship and overall impressed by the products. I'll continue to build upon my Saddleback products.

the perfect little toiletry kit!

by -

just got my travel case yesterday , i bought the small in chestnut (my personal favourite colour) i actually bought it on the 25% Dave's deal and have no regrets in doing so , it has a small mark on one of the corners from the sewing machine that virtually disappears after applying a little mink oil to the case. any way as i stated in the title this makes a perfect toiletry kit , which is what i bought it for . the loop pockets on the lid hold my Edwin Jagger Classic safety razor and tooth brush perfectly , i have a few packs of spare razor blades, comb , styptic pencil, dental floss, some Q-tips, and a manual nose hair trimmer in the back pocket. in the main compartment i have a Taylor of Old Bond St deodorant and one of their soap bars (in a case) my aftershave lotion , tooth paste , pre shave oil , shaving cream , Edwin Jagger travel badger brush , a small shampoo, hair pomade, and cologne. its all a fairly snug fit but i have everything i need to look my best all in one easy to carry or pack case. I love it !

Multi-Functional Simplicity

by -

My first exposure to Saddleback was perusing Amazon.com and seeing a Moleskine cover for $45.00. I was enthralled; what could possibly warrant a high price tag for a notebook cover? So I visited your website, spent a week reading and re-reading your entire website. I was thoroughly convinced I was going to invest money in one of your bags for my trip up north. As it turned out, I couldn't decide between the pouch, the dry bag, or the travel case. I finally decided on the medium travel case (tobacco brown) and submitted my order.

My Medium Travel Case in Tobacco Brown arrived early this afternoon and I could smell the leather through the box. I opened the box and was so knocked out by the look of the bag even still wrapped in the plastic. The workmanship is stellar and I cannot believe what a great buy this is. I didn't realize a key fob was included and was ecstatic over that extra as well as my mini-Bible. The pigskin lining is beautifully matched to the outer leather; the inner pocket at the side of the case is perfectly crafted to hold a first aid kit, Altoid tin, vitamin/pill case, and eyedrops; the inner "ear" flaps keep contents inside the case; the buckle closure is extremely sturdy; the adjustable strap was at a perfect length to wear cross-body (I am 5'4"); and the floating shoulder pad is thick and durable. The only complaint is the clip mechanism that connects the shoulder strap to the case: it screws open or closed but when closed it is not perfectly aligned (only I notice it).

After reading various testimonials, viewing YouTube videos, and reading your website on the Travel Case, it fits perfectly into my life as a travel case during my flights up north; using as a toiletry bag on occasion; using to transport my lunch (bento-style) and other daily needs; and my daily purse running into town. I am sure to get overwhelmed with compliments on this bag. My favorite part of owning this bag is its multi-functioning simplicity.

Your fine craftsmanship and eye for beautiful detail is superior to any bag I've seen and used. My only regret is not seeing this company 30 years ago or whenever it started marketing its products. Thank you so much for a great product. I will be saving up for more products to buy now that I am a Saddleback Leather convert.

Great Travel Case for A Bald Guy

by -

I bought this travel case on Dave's Deals in Tobacco and glad that I did. This case is perfect for holding all of my shaving pieces in one place and staying organized. I am able to fit a pair of Andis clippers, straight razor, shaving cream, hairbrush (for the beard), and Gillette shaving blades, and I still have room to spare.

Sturdy for travel or tools

by -

I bought the travel case as a toiletry bag for travel, but initially used it to carry tools. I have recently taken it on an overseas trip, and that is where the design really shines. The rigid construction maintains the shape of the travel case, so the contents don't get squished or crushed as the baggage handlers throw things around. This is especially useful when carrying things like soft tubes of cream, or fragile items like fragrance bottles.

Best of all, the leather is easily wiped down should anything spill - my fragrance bottle leaked, and I had failed to heed the great advice of putting it in a zip lock bag, but it wiped right out without hassle.

Great For Toiletry Bag!

by -

I travel a bit for work and I'd been looking for a new toiletry case that was a little bigger and something out of the ordinary. I had recently purchased a slim briefcase and some other tech-related Saddleback items, so I thought I'd give the Dark Coffee Brown Travel Case a try. It has been the perfect bag for the job! Easily fits the shaving/grooming essentials, the single interior pocket holds my beard trimmer perfectly, and I have room to spare. The pigskin lining was a big selling point for this bag because I needed something easy to clean.

Aesthetically speaking, the item is beautiful. The design is well thought out, but not stuffy and pretentious. There are many other uses for the bag if I decided not to use it for toiletries. I love that they put a strap on the bag so I can carry it instead of having to stuff my toiletries in another piece of luggage. The quality of the product and attention to detail are obvious, as is with all Saddleback products I've seen or owned. Honestly, I will likely use this bag for the rest of my life. It is made that well. And my daughter has dibs on it when I check out of this life and into the next. (My son has dibs on my briefcase.)

Now I'm saving my pennies for a duffel...

Truly Universal

by -

I received this bag from my wife on the eve of our wedding as a gift for joining her in holy matrimony. Since that evening, I have used this bag any time we've traveled anywhere for any length of time. It holds so much and takes up so little space in my luggage that is an absolute must. My travel bag is the coffee bag in contrast to usually choosing the chestnut, but I truly appreciate the contrast. Having owned it for 8 months, it's starting to look amazing. Fantastic bag!!!

Looking from a different perspective, I purchased the travel case for one of my groomsmen as a gift for standing next to me on special day. He is in his third year of veterinary school, and I decided every doctor needs a bag. He took his chestnut bag with him to India for his internship this summer and needless to say, it looked right at home. So, for all you doctors out there that do any travel work, make the purchase!!!

Ideal For Musicians

by -

There are hardly any guitar players who only own one guitar. What happens is that the pick you want or the tuner you want is always in the OTHER guitar case.

I use this to carry all the musical detritus that used to clutter up the guitar case. Then it goes with whatever guitar I chose to take. It carries: picks, tuners, tuner batteries, old fashioned tuning fork, nail clippers, string sets, string winder wrench and small diagonal cutters and needle nose pliers for changing strings, graphite for lubing the bridge and nut slots, small digital metronome, index cards and golf pencil to write down tunes I might want to learn, microfiber wiping cloth, and a bunch of things that are just in there for luck, like an old ticket to the Texas State Fair. You will love it.

Beautiful Leather

by -

This is the 5th item I have bought from Saddleback in 3 weeks (I'm addicted). All items received in 4-5 days. Love, love, love this bag. The quality of this product cannot be described. Ordered the dark coffee and use it as my purse. The first day I went shopping with it I got two compliments. The large wallet fits inside . I purchased the belt with case and put the case on this strap for my cell phone. A little awkward to get use to carrying crossbody.

Compact case for a DSLR

by -

Saddleback Review

I was looking for a compact travel case for my DSLR. In this travel case, I am able to fit my Canon 70D with an 18-55 mounted, plus a 55-250 zoom in a neoprene case. Behind the divider, I am able to tuck in an AC charger, spare battery, spare SD, lens filters (3), and an extra lens cap and body cap. The leather Phat Strap packs neatly in the open space remaining and everything sits very snugly.

The only thing I may want to add would be a base liner of 3mm neoprene for added shock protection - there would be plenty of room to add this at a later time.

Here are three photos of the case closed, with contents packed, and contents unpacked - https://plus.google.com/photos/107793261358060669376/albums/5949592788866438961?authkey=CJ-jjobJ4NCobA

Thank you Saddleback for making a great product!

Perfect accessory to the Squared Backpack

by -

I bought the Squared Backpack a while ago and needed to protect some stuff. Recently I bought the Classic Case to add to my collection. ( my kids think I need intervention) I was just looking at both of them and put the case in the backpack and low and behold.... Perfect fit with ample room to spare! Problem solved! Both are tobacco and I can't tell you how good it looks. Pictures don't even do the leather work justice. Those who own some know what I mean.

One Case to Rule them All!!!

by -

This really is the case to rule all other cases. I have 2 right now, one as a dopp kit, and one for a shoe shining kit, and I'm about to get a third for my coin collection. Perfect.

Functional and Beautiful

by -

I have two of these bags. One medium in DCB and recently purchased a small in discontinued tobacco from Dave's Deal's. I use the medium bag as a sewing kit. The small is my purse. I love, love, love the small bag and the shade of tobacco. It is so unique-even my husband likes it.

The everything bag

by -

Since the leather is sooo thick I use this as and ice cooler in the day time, I fit 6 -12 oz. soda cans and two reusable ice packs. In the pouch I keep other goodies, trail mix or chocolate. I stay in a good mood throughout the day with all that. On long trips I use it as a snazzy dopp kit and if I'm going hunting I made a foam insert to keep things rattling I use it as a case to keep my bullets as well as spent brass casings.

Fits everything plus extras

by -

When I bought this it came in 3 sizes I believe. I got the medium and have had it for a while now. Fits all my shaving stuff and has room for extras. (like spare socks and underwear for really short overnight trips :-)) Tobacco is a very rich color. The bag is made like a tank and I expect it'll be the last one I'll ever need. The quality is obvious. I get lots of compliments on it, too.

gorgeous thing

by -

my main purchase was the medium carbon front pocket backpack, but i tacked this critter onto the order at the 11th hour (thank you carlie!) because i figured it would be a very handy bag whilst inflight.

it arrived today and while i admittedly spent most of my time cooing over the backpack, i have also been appreciating the travel case.

it fits an ipad air (on a bit of an angle, but hey) and an iphone and a somewhat bulky pair of noise-cancelling bose headphones (in their own awkwardly-shaped case), plus a pen and passport and boarding pass and lip balm and eye drops and toothbrush and toothpaste and hand cream and face spritzer and lavender essential oil and there is still room galore for whatever conga line of sedating type psycho-pharmaceuticals one might need on a long haul flight in economy.

i can already tell that we are going to be very happy together.

and the leather is gorgeous: a soft matte dark dark nuanced gray, rather than a shiny hard flat black.

this stuff is going to wear like a dream.

5 stars from me and many thanks to the really friendly and lovely CS people at SBL.

I couldn't be more pleased

by -

I am in love with this travel case. I purchased it for my cosmetics/soap etc. Those 10$ bags you buy at the store only last a few years at best and I'm tired of buying them. The leather smells fantastic. The sides of the bag are stiff, I feel confident I can put some serious stuff in this bag and it wont sag on me. This is not my first SBL purchase, and there is no way it will be my last. I am already eyeing a backpack and afew other items. I love this company, I feel great about who they are, what they stand for and their product. The travel case was a perfect fit for what I needed. The quality is outstanding, there is nothing I have ever seen to match it.

Sturdy and Spacious

by -

This is my fifth Saddleback Leather item, so I knew what to expect in terms of quality. The only thing that did surprise me was just how much stuff I could fit inside the case. The thing is deceptively cavernous. Well done, folks.

An American Inspiration!

by

A new customer of Saddleback, I am genuinely impressed with the design, workmanship & quality of the travel bag. I have researched & considered multiple leather companies before selecting this bag. The bag inspires me to use it daily with pride & flair. Its leather feels supple & sturdy, adorned with natural markings of bovine character. Stitches & metal parts accentuate the bag's aesthetic appeal. I will certainly be returning to Saddleback for more purchases. Thank you, Saddleback, for your authenticity & excellence in offering the best leather experience for leather lovers!

Great for Travel

by

As a post-graduate student, I find most of Dave's items expensive. Now, with that said, I own four items! I figure, in the long run, it all will pay themselves off.

The travel case is amazing. I travel, A LOT. I tend use my passport 4-5x a year, as I live in Europe and travel is too easy to pass up. The case comes in handy. When on weekend European trips, it fits perfectly in my "Side Pocket Duffel". I have a 3200D Nikon camera & 55mm lens, which fits in the travel case with ample space. When out and about in a city, I take the travel case with me. It holds the camera, my travel towel, guide book (if I use one), wallet, and other small items. When traveling to Montenegro on a day trip, I was able to fit all that, plus a few items for food (e.g. apple and banana).

It is perfect for day exploration - it means I don't have to lug around a backpack or the "Side Pocket Duffel". The shape is great as well. As a guy, it doesn't feel I'm carrying around a purse!

If I had to be super critical of the travel case, I would say the balance can be off when you have heavy items in it. If it is open, obviously things will fall out, so just be mindful - still gets 5 stars.

Story

We didn’t want to take our kids to Africa when they were too young, so we waited until they were 16 and 38 months old. And that was the maiden voyage for our travel case, too. Actually, we first stopped off in Spain, then the Seychelles, off the coast of Somalia, then to Tanzania, Rwanda to Ireland and then home. My hot wife, Suzette, loved her travel case so much that she took it out into the Serengeti and left everything else behind. See the video of her smallTravel Case at The Great Migration while watching the wildebeest dodge crocodiles in the Mara river, It didn’t look out of place.

I really wanted a Shaving / Dopp Kit I could love, but since I don’t design with zippers, it was real hard designing something to keep the little things in. Once I figured out the overhanging lip and side flaps on this bag, I posted a picture of the prototype on Facebook and I didn’t say what it was. One of the first posts was, “Oh! A tackle box. Then someone said, “Hey, a makeup bag!” “Finally! A tool kit!” “Yes! Something for my hair cutting tools!” “Look, a train case!” “A sewing kit!”. And on the comments went. Well, I knew I couldn’t name it the Shaving Kit if the design was that universal. So, I named it the Travel Case.

I purchased the belt with case and put the case on this strap for my cell phone. A little awkward to get use to carrying crossbody.

Compact case for a DSLR
