One hell of a belt !

by -

Can't beat this belt! I've got maybe 30 belts, and this one is the best of all of them. The only problem I had when I first got it was that the chicago screws were on so tight that I needed some pliers along with a screwdriver to get them loose; that caused some scratches in the leather. However, they're on the inside, so they're not visible. If you choose to put a different buckle on it, choose that buckle carefully, as it can be a pain in the a** to change.

Old Bull Belt

Great thick belt with a short tail so you dont have a peice of belt hanging. I would only change the belt buckle to a new looking one and not the antuque look, so i can wear it out myself. I wear it everyday with a leather knife sheath. Well worth the price for a life long belt. Good job dave.

Outstanding Belt

After ordering a wallet and liking the craftsmanship,

I ordered the Old Bull Belt.

I could not be happier. Great thick leather and nice buckle.

Works well with jeans.

Plan to purchase another in a different color.

It is truly amazing!

by -

It is so darn thick! Now my other belt looks really girly. I was hesitating between the Old-Bull and the Tow Belt, since their price is identical. But the Tow Belt is sold out my size, and this old bull is ONLY ONE PIECE of leather! Gee that is amazing! It may not look as professional as my other belts are. But it doesn't matter since I got my Dunhill for work. This one is my leisure use and will my only leisure use belt.

I love my belt.

by -

I got mine in chestnut. It is a thick and tough belt. Very comfortable wearing it due to the slightly rounded edge and slide in easily through the belt loops around the pants.

Get it true to size with some room to play with either looser or tighter.

Love it, love it, love it.

Chestnut Color is Beautiful

by -

The Old Bull belt is as good as all the other reviewers say it is. It's thick, quality leather. My previous "genuine leather" belt cannot compare to the Old Bull belt.

I do have two cautions. First, the Dark Coffee Brown color is very dark. I ordered one, and when I received it I thought it was black. Customer service said that the thick leather often tans very dark. I returned because it was so dark it was unusable as a brown belt. I then tried the chestnut color, and I love it. It's a beautiful color. It has enough of a brown tint to be used as a brown belt, and it will age beautifully.

The second caution is about size. Dave says to order your waist size, but I recommend measuring your current belt and seeing which Old Bull size will fit you. It will likely be your waist size. But these belt run a bit short. Since I'm between sizes, I needed to order a size up.

I am very happy will my Chestnut Old Bull Belt.

Good for the gander, even sexier on the goose

Bought one for my husband, then I bought one for me. Standard awesome Saddleback product. Fantastic with jeans and my dressy trousers. Yes boys, I mean business in my Old Bull-ette Belt! =D

I finally found the right belt

by -

For years I've been buying belts that eventually withered away, broke, or just plain wore out. I've bought a couple of Saddleback Leather accessories but now I wanted to invest in to a really nice belt and I have found what I've been looking for all these years with the Old Bull Belt. When I unpacked it today I was blown away on how well built is is and how beautiful a simple belt is. No need for embellishments. I hope this belt lasts me for a long time or until I need to get a smaller size since I've been dieting and exercising to get back to my fighting weight. Mahalo and aloha Saddleback Leather.

Amazing how nobody gets this right

by -

So the wife asks what I wanted for Father's Day and I say I really want a belt from Saddleback.

I have the classic briefcase and a, slowly getting rid of all my old stuff and replacing it with SB products.

So I eagerly wake up on Father's Day and open my cards and then tear into the box my wife gives me.

It's like Christmas and I open it up and I am loan away by it. I got the black because I will need that color more but brown will soon follow.

The biggest thing I noticed is that all the other belts I own are junk, putting it bluntly. The nicest belt I owned that I love went in the garbage yesterday and I paid just as much for it. How can so many companies get making belts wrong.

This belt fits true and is the first belt I have ever owned that fits perfect.

As Dave says if you are a 32 waist, order a 32 size. You won't need another belt again.

Thsi thing is THICK!

by -

My first reaction when putting this belt on was that I thought I had ordered the wrong size. This is because this belt has less "useless" leather at the end of it after the last hole. Dave actually explains this in the video, but I forgot about it. It turns out I picked the perfect size, as I'm always using the middle hole, so it's all good.

The thickness of the leather is incredible. I don't doubt for a second that this thing would last a hundred years if properly taken care of. It's a little stiff in the beginning, but the more you use it, the more it starts to reshape and soften to fit your hip perfectly.

What can I say? It's simply the best belt I've ever purchased and it looks great with jeans and even some chinos if you're into the casual/sporty look. Well worth the 94 dollars (I've spent more money on belts in the past that have long since broken apart).

Btw, they also make for a great gift. In fact, I'll be picking up another belt this month for my brother who I think will appreciate the unmatched quality just as much as I am.

5 minutes

There is absolutely no reason I should be impressed with a belt in only five minutes. But I am. I have four dress belts, three of them various shades of brown. The three brown ones just went into the trash. Full disclosure here, I already own four other saddleback products, but I ordered this belt after trying to figure out which ones i wanted. Once it arrived, I tried it on and was very happy with the look, the quality of the craftsmanship, not to mention the sizing of the belt and spacing of the holes. I like the way the edges are done so it slides on and off very smoothly. It really makes you wonder why other belt makers miss the bullseye by so wide a margin. I truly believe that this will be the last brown belt I will ever have. Next up, black.

A Belt!

by -

Just like every product from Saddleback Leather that I own, this item is beautiful, and it's obvious that it is extremely well crafted from top quality leather. As long as it doesn't stretch too much, this will probably be the last casual belt that I ever have to buy.

I LOVE that Dave crafted the belt in a way that allows us to change the buckle, however, it is pretty difficult to take the screws off especially without scrapping the heck out of the leather in the front. What happens is, the part visible from the front that the screw screws into has no traction, so it just turns and turns. So, in order to get the screw off you have to use something like needle-nose pliers to grab the front part while you turn the screw in the back. This will inevitably scratch up the leather in the front.

If this issue was fixed, this would be the perfect belt.

Hands down the best belt I've ever owned

Just received the old bull belt in black and I am in awe. It puts every other belt to shame. Fits perfectly, slides on and off with ease. Couldn't be better. It's wider than the belts I've worn in the past but it looks great now and will look even better in 5 years. No other belt I've had would even last 5 years. Great product.

What my old man says

"the belt has an uncanny ability to hold in place my otherwise slipping pants."

bought for my dad's birthday in 2012.

Belt for a lifetime

by -

All I can say is WOW. I wanted a quality belt, and oh boy did I get one. Everything about this belt screams BIFL. The thickness is impressive. It threads into my jeans amazingly easily. Much better than my cheapo belt. I would 100% recommend to anyone that is looking for a well made belt that will last a lifetime, to buy a Saddleback belt!

Dave, You are killing me!!

by -

Have to go online to sell my other unworn stuffs in order to purchase this Chestnut Old Bull Belt. Received days ago, this is one superior belt head and shoulders above any other belt ever used. It is just simply one word - quality, bar none. I found myself digging some other stuffs to sell again, why? Need to purchase the DCB one next! Oh my, Dave, you are absolutely killing me! :)) I believe I have been addicted to your stuff already. First got myself a Chestnut Large Satchel, then the Old Bul Belt, then the Big Wallet, now this. CALLING ALL SHRINKS! I NEED TO SEEK ADVICE!

The perfect belt

by -

I buy things of quality that last. Call it a legacy borne of necessity. This belt has lasted me through tough situations, as a belt, as a sling, as load-bearing pulley belt – I’ve used this belt for just about everything imaginable. And it’s held up and still looks awesome. This belt was built to work and look good in the process. I’ve never encountered a leather belt made to this standard. I highly recommend this item.

One hell of a belt

by -

Interesting story... Bought this belt last month and it may have saved my life. I was walking around the streets of Philly the other night with my girlfriend when I was confronted by a homeless man with a knife. I was more concerned about the girl I was with, she was wearing high heels and was in no condition to run or really defend herself. Had I been alone, I think I would have just jumped him or ran off. So I complied and started to reach for my pocket to get my wallet when all of a sudden, he makes a move toward the girl I was with. Without a thought, I went for my belt (The Old Bull) and whipped it off. It was almost like a scene from Indiana Jones with his whip. When I did, it cracked so loud that the man jumped back and was physically shaken. I looked at him, clutching the belt in my hand ready to beat the hell out of him if he tried it again. Instead, he stood there and said, "I think I've made a mistake, please don't call the police." He started walking away, and I called the police.

Loooking back, I don't doubt this belt could have done some serious damage to that guy. it's solid, looks good, and will last me forever. Hopefully I won't have many more stories like this but knowing my luck, I probably will. This belt will be there though to make sure they all have happy endings! >=)

Back of the belt shreds like crazy

by -

I bought the old bull and the tow belt. Tow belt is great love it! The old bull belt not so much, the unfinished back side shreds like crazy, leaving pieces of leather all over the place. Because of the shredding I also get a lot of dye transfer onto whatever I am wearing. The painted edges have also chipped away on most parts of the belt. I had the old bull belt about 8 months. It has aged very poorly. Seriously doubt this will last a hundred years.

Awesome Belt!

by -

I've had my Old Bull for a bit over a week and absolutely love it so far! Love the thickness of it and the obvious quality of the leather. The spacing of the holes works great and makes a huge difference in the comfort of the belt to me - just as Dave describes in his video. I'm one of those guys that loves for my belt to fit so my pants are snug and my shirt stays tucked in. That has caused other belts to wear out quickly for me. This one definitely seems up to the task for a long time. This belt is actually my first Saddleback product but it definitely won't be my last!

Old Bull Belt

by -

Over the last year, through a friend in the US, I have already purchased a tow belt and a medium bi-fold wallet. After I set up my own account last week, got the old bull belt. All excellent quality and just as described. Best leather products I have ever purchased. Now I want a backpack. Cannot recommend more highly.

Strong enough for a bull made for a man

by -

I've been buying Saddleback products for 5 or 6 years now. Consistent with everyone else, I'm always greatly satisfied. I'm a 6ft 300lb 42-44inch waist guy that is always harsh on pants, belts and wallets. I own Saddleback leather products in two of those three categories.

I've had the Old Bull Belt for about 18 months now. I got it for Christmas, 2012. The only differences between when it was new and now is that it has a slight curve (a-la my belly) and it's not quite as stiff as it once was. I wear this thing EVERY DAY. It is rock solid. I still have a hard time believing there was an animal out there with hide this thick. I brag on it constantly and show it off to anyone who doesn't think it weird that I'm taking my belt off.

Like I said, I'm very tough on belts, I may yet take Dave up on his 100 year warranty, however, when that day comes (not anytime soon BTW), It'll be a tough decision between sending it back or framing it and purchasing another.

Story

I found my favorite belt ever in a little weekend traveling mercado when I was living there selling real estate at a country club in a little town outside of Mexico City. It was one solid piece of leather, not as thick as this belt is, but it was thick. It had accidentally been with me in the Mediterranean, getting pushed into swimming pools, and not accidentally all over the world. So when I left it in the security checkpoint at the Dallas/Ft. Worth airport 10 years later, I kinda wanted to cry. Strangely enough, I still miss that belt because of all the pants and memories it held. As soon as I found a leather good and thick enough, I recreated it with a few improvements I learned along the way. We only found one tannery on the North American continent with specialty leather this thick. The belt might just be tougher than you are.
